How much does custom jewelry cost?

Buying a piece of custom jewelry can be a big decision. Whether you're getting ready to splurge on a statement piece or trying to flex a little more frugally, clear and transparent pricing is something that you not only need, but deserve.

Because we specialize in true custom, meaning each piece is made specifically for you, the price is going to vary widely based on what you choose to create - but that doesn't mean you have to go in guessing.

We're here to demystify the process, give you an idea of what it takes to create your dream jewelry, and provide a few tips for how to make your hard-earned money go as far as possible.

  • Up to $1000

Custom jewelry may be possible, but options will be limited.

A classic solitaire ring with a lab-grown diamond center could be a great option.

Instead of buying low quality at a chain store, consider letting us help you find good deals through estate pieces, and closeouts!

  • Up to $2500

A nice piece of jewelry can be made, especially when using lab-grown diamonds, or heirloom components.

Pendants, fashion rings, and even many simple engagement rings will fit in this budget.

Expect 14k gold, and eye clean diamonds.

  • Up to $5000

You've got more creative freedom, and may even have room for some upgrades like ideal cut accents, or hand engraving.

Expect up to a one carat natural diamond in a classic style engagement ring.

Expect a two carat or larger lab grown diamond in a nice custom piece.

  • Sky's the Limit

We believe in giving you maximum value for your dollar, and far exceeding what you could find elsewhere.

Engagement Rings

How much does a custom engagement ring cost?

Again, because it's being custom made the exact answer is going to depend on what you choose to create. However, we can give you a good idea of where things start.

The Ring

Let's break it down into two parts: The ring, and the center.

n the jewelry business, we use the term "semi-mount" to refer to a ring that is completely finished aside from the diamond or gem that goes in the center. If you already own a center stone, then all you need to focus on is the ring itself. If you're going to be buying a center as well, then you just need to add the price of the ring and the price of the center together.

While something like a classic solitaire may be achievable for around $1000, or even under, most custom semi-mounts that we build fall between $2500 and $5000 depending on the level of detail, and the amount of sparkle. Larger statement pieces can push well into the five and six figure range.

The Center

If you're looking to purchase a diamond as well, the price will depend on the size and quality you choose.

On today's market, a nice one carat lab-grown diamond can be purchased for less than $300, and larger sizes are very reasonable as well.

That same quality in a one carat natural diamond will likely be over $3000, and will go up exponentially depending on the 4 Cs (cut, color, clarity, and carat weight).

Other gemstones such as ruby, sapphire, etc. can be a wonderful way to create a unique and expressive piece of jewelry. We work with both natural, and synthetic gems - and price is wholly dependent upon the nature of the stone.

If you are working on a budget, you may choose to spend more on the center, and select a more understated or modest semi-mount to stay in budget, or build the ring you want using a more affordable center that can be upgraded in the future.

Is Custom Jewelry Worth It?

While we do our best to keep our prices fair and competitive, you may still find yourself asking if it's worth spending the money on custom jewelry. Although that is ultimately a question everyone must answer for themselves, here are a few benefits worth considering.

We are an American company

Beautiful, high quality jewelry can be made anywhere in the world. The quality depends on the men and women crafting the piece. However, being made in America using materials responsibly sourced from all over the world means we are able to control every aspect of the creation process, and easily communicate your vision.

If you live in Texas, this also means your hard-earned money is going to support your local community.

Our primary focus is quality

Mass-produced jewelry is often built with a focus on corporate goals and profit. We have seen companies compromise the integrity of their products in order to make higher margins many times.
We see our customers as individuals, not just numbers on a spread sheet. Our goal is to build jewelry the right way, and not cut corners.

This not only means better looking pieces, but also saves you time, money, and frustration. We believe your jewelry looks better when you're wearing it than when it's sitting in the shop in need of repair.

Each design is unique

Whether you're designing a piece that is a visible one-of-a-kind, or something that is a more classic style, we begin each piece with a conversation, and start from the ground up. Every piece we make is built to your specific needs, including size, comfort, metal preferences, and more.

This also gives us more control over your budget, allowing you to focus on the things that are important to you, and not waste money on the things that aren't.
